The topic for the August 29th CERT meeting will be FEMA’s IS-907 course, “Active Shooter: What You Can Do”.

The current CERT dues year ends on June 30, 2018. At one of the Council meetings it was determined that we have to raise the annual dues to $15 per person to meet expenses. It was also decided that the dues year would be changed from the old fiscal year to the calendar year. We would like to offer you two options for paying dues:

Option 1: Pay your remaining 2018 dues ($7.50) anytime between now and June 30. If you pay $7.50 your dues will cover the period July 1- December 31, 2018. Then in December pay $15 for calendar year 2019 dues.

Option 2: Pay $20 by July 31st and your dues will be current for the remainder of 2018 and all of 2019.

Dues may be paid at the June 27 meeting, cash or checks payable to GGV CERT. Please complete the Membership Form so that we can be sure we have your current contact information. Graduates of the March 2018 Basic Course are paid through December 31, 2018.

If you will be travelling or are away for the summer, you may mail the dues to the Treasurer, Peggy McGee, 1908 E Longspur Place, Green Valley 85614-6039. Don’t forget the membership form with your check.

◊ CERT Basic Course coming in October:  The 2018 course dates are scheduled from 5:30-9:00 p.m. on October 10, 11, 17, and 18.  On October 20 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. there will be a written test and practical exercise followed by a pizza graduation party. All classes will be held at the Green Valley Fire District HQ, 1285 W. Camino Encanto.
